If everything you touch hurts, maybe your finger is broken
We all have those clients that can’t get out of their own way. These guys can’t get Active Directory to work. Networks never seem to operate as expected. Heck, even their phones are “always on the fritz.”
In this instance, the client decided to migrate a DHCP scope from a network device to a new domain controller at one of their sites. Not only did they fail to coordinate with the vendor managing the existing DHCP server, but when it all fell to pot, they decide to blame the firewall and walk away.
At some point, all the “affected” devices get rebooted and the Internet is still down (Firewall, Switches, APs). A simple fix of the DNS server and voila! The whole thing is resolved AFTER the client leaves the site. And since they weren’t there to see the “fix” in action, it is all just an elaborate ruse to make them look bad.
Sorry pardner, ya’ll done did that on your own.
